Dont Mess with the Boys in Blue
Its been one of those frustrating days today – after playing a cool show in London and having a few drinks around and about the town, we then made friends with some strange men who at first tried to sell us some very naughty illegal substances then decided ‘these chaps seem fairly nice – lets take them out for a beer’ , so me and my new Australian super tall friend Miles, decided to take them up on the offer – after doing the whole pointless walking around drinking beer thing which seems to be synonymous with London or indeed any fairly large city, enough was enough we decided to literally run away from these two blokes, who looked completely shocked and frankly slightly hurt – by this point the drummer and guitarist where nowhere to be seen, I found them earlier this morning, one covered in pillows in the back of a van and the other groaning after a night on the good ship – Loyd Grossman
Now this very morning as I attempted to get into Central-ish London – I had a very unfortunate run-in with the boys in blue (shouldn’t that be fluorescent?!?)… Now I decided to use the tube to get to my destination, and in all honesty was in a rush and couldn’t find or was that ‘couldn’t be bothered to pay for a ticket in the naive hope that I might be able to outwit people who’s jobs it is to not be outwitted…’ When I arrived at the tube station this morning – no ticket, naively thinking I would be able to pay I was met by the most horrible of woman who told me despite the ticket which I should have brought at the first station only costing £2.40 she was not going to let me out of the station unless I paid a £20 fine – a travesty I thought and there was no way that I was going to allow this to affect my life my savings or anything – so I refused much arguing happened and finally the BTP (look it up… its embarrassing to be dealt with by these boys, you know your not really a criminal!)
So really the moral of the story is pay for your transport or these people will sting you…
